Shawn Morris is the Director of Marketing and Communications at Sudbury Youth Centre, a multi-service, community-based charitable organization that provides a wide range of social and recreational activities for teens. Volunteer involvement is essential to Sudbury Youth Centre and in the past few months, the organization had hired three new volunteers to join their marketing team and help with social media. As his team was growing and different people were now managing Sudbury Youth Centre’s social media platforms, Shawn Morris decided it was time to set a clear strategy for each platform so that his team members could work more efficiently. After taking the Global Impact Hub’s social media marketing course, Shawn Morris developed a social media marketing strategy to generate brand awareness and extend his reach by leveraging influencer marketing. He also assigned specific roles to each platform by using TikTok and Instagram mostly to reach out to teens, Facebook to parents and Twitter to keep sponsors and funding organizations up to date of the impact of their work.
